Let’s change the subject for a moment.
I think you have a smartphone.
Smartphones are very convenient, but when they were first developed, it would have been hard to imagine how they could be used in such a wide variety of ways.
However, as more and more applications have been developed and new ways of using smartphones have emerged, they have become more valuable.
I believe the same is true for automated driving.
It is not so much the technology but rather the variety of applications and uses that will drive automated driving to penetrate into society.
Until now, the focus has been on the development of automated driving technology, but as the technology advances, it has shifted to how it is used.
What will it be used for? How will it be used? And who will it make happy?
We will hold such discussions with the young generation of students who will be responsible for the future, and come up with ideas to implement in society while overcoming legal and business challenges.
Not only participating students, but also mentors from various companies and bureaucrats from the central government will participate in the discussions and offer advice.
In these discussions, various service ideas unique to automated driving are proposed that go beyond simply transporting people and goods.
Let’s think about the possibilities of automated driving together, away from the existing concept of a “car.”
The students’ discussions will continue from August to November 2022.
Unfortunately, not all discussions are open to the public, but the October 10 interim presentation and the December 10 final review session will be streamed online.
Simultaneous English interpretation will be available.
